Le Chevrefeuille, Dordogne, France family friendly holiday experience with cooking classes for all ages!
Nestled in a quiet hamlet in the heart of the touristique Dordogne Valley, Sara and Ian Fisk have been running their holiday accommodation and cookery school for nearly 20 years. Set in an old Perigordine farmhouse ensemble of stone buildings, this property combines modern comfort with traditional charm.
With the focus being family friendly and as an ex chef, good food and natural surroundings have made Le Chevrefeuille rooms and apartments maintain consistently highest ratings and accolades in the area.
This year, the couple have installed outside kitchens to each of their self catering apartments, allowing families to cook and eat together on their private terrace overlooking the pool and gardens.
“The outdoor kitchens allow everyone to be together, enjoying the sunshine whilst preparing, cooking and eating together. As the main cook of our family, I often found myself separated, even on holiday so this is something I would really appreciate” said Ian
They also run their cooking school “CookDordogne” from their property. They invite people of all ages from 5 years old to participate in a half day cooking experience open their large outdoor kitchen terrace to learn about the array of regional produce and why the region has such a proud gastronomic reputation. The course offers a two course menu which is enjoyed at the end of the mornings course with wine for the adults and certificates for the junior chefs.
“This is a rare activity which a family of all ages can participate and have fun together” says Sara. “Its amazing how much the kids engage with the whole experience”
You of course then have the option to reproduce this on your own outdoor kitchen, which boasts a sink, two gas hob, planche, fridge and dishwasher.
This property also offers breakfast, pool, free bikes, a playroom, animals and outdoor activities like football, table tennis and swings.
